FOMAHI NEWS - June 2026
Wrapping Up a Wonderful Year

As the 2025–26 school year comes to a close, we want to thank all Hamilton music families for your support throughout the year.

Whether you volunteered at events and trips, donated to our bake sales, helped with fundraising, attended performances, or encouraged our young musicians along the way, you helped make this a great year for Hamilton's music program. We truly appreciate the time, effort, and support you gave throughout the year.

We would also like to thank our music directors, Ms. Pence, Mr. Ogle, and Ms. Hepburn, for their dedication, guidance, and commitment to helping our students grow as musicians and individuals.

Thank you for supporting FOMAHI and Hamilton's music programs this year. We wish you a fun, safe, and relaxing summer, and we look forward to seeing you again in the fall!

Thank you,

FOMAHI Board

Spring Performance Highlights

This spring was filled with outstanding performances by our Hamilton musicians, both on stage and at music festivals.

At Silverwood, our Jazz Band and Concert Band both earned 1st place in their divisions and received Superior ratings, with the Concert Band also taking 1st place overall in the Junior High Concert Band category. Our Chamber Orchestra earned 1st place in its division and 1st place overall, while the Concert Orchestra placed 3rd.

At Oaks Park, the Junior Jazz Band earned 1st place, the Intermediate Band placed 2nd, and the Premier Orchestra placed 4th in their respective categories.

We are incredibly proud of all our student musicians and the hard work they put in throughout the year. Their talent was also on full display at Jazz Night and our Spring Choir, Orchestra, and Band concerts. Congratulations to everyone on a fantastic season!

Welcome Our New Board Members!

We’re excited to welcome our newest FOMAHI board members for the coming year:

  • Alastair Edwards – Incoming Communications Chair
  • Olympe Hispard – Incoming Jazz Liaison

Thank you both for stepping up to support our music community. We’re looking forward to another fantastic year of music at Hamilton!

Board Opportunities for Next Year

We’re still looking to fill a few volunteer positions:

  • Choir Liaison – Help coordinate choir concert operations and support choir events.
  • Vice Treasurer – Work alongside our Treasurer and learn the role.
  • Co Fundraising Chair – Partner with our Fundraising Chair to support fundraising efforts.

Just a few hours each month can make a meaningful difference—and gives you a front-row seat to your student’s music program!

About FOMAHI

Friends of Music at Hamilton International (FOMAHI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Hamilton's choirs, orchestras, concert bands, and jazz bands. Our goal is to help provide meaningful music education and performance opportunities for all students.

The FOMAHI Board is made up of parent and guardian volunteers who meet monthly to support the music program through fundraising, event planning, concert and trip coordination, budgeting, and advocacy. All Hamilton families are welcome to attend our meetings.

During the 2025–26 school year, FOMAHI helped organize and support concerts, festivals, and trips, while also funding resources that are not fully covered by SPS. These included music supplies, instrument purchases and repairs, financial assistance for students, music coaches, teacher grants, and professional development opportunities.

The success of Hamilton's music program is made possible through the support of our music families, volunteers, and donors. Thank you for helping us keep music thriving at Hamilton!
