Greetings, Hamilton music families!

You are receiving this email because you are registered with the Friends of Music at Hamilton International Middle School (FOMAHI).

At the April 27th meeting, Directors Angela Pence and Geoff Ogle outlined to FOMAHI Board members many of the challenges - and some of the rewarding moments - of welcoming Cohorts A & B back into their music rooms. The Directors would like to purchase some new instruments and materials for next year with FOMAHI funds.

It's hard to believe we have only eight weeks of school left! We can't wait to get together as a community and listen to music again. As we look forward to this possibility next year, FOMAHI will need parent help with concerts, fundraising, etc. Please see below for board and volunteer opportunities.

Upcoming Concerts

Each concert is a live Teams event and a meeting link will be sent out by the director a week before. Come and enjoy what music students have been working on in our time of distance learning!

Choir Concert – May 20^th

Ms. Pence's choirs will present a virtual concert on Thursday, May 20^th from 7pm-9pm. They will present a performance video from each vocal ensemble as well as pre-recorded solo and small group performances.

Pence Intermediate Band Concert – May 27^th

Ms. Pence’s 6^th period Intermediate Band will present a virtual concert on Thursday, May 27^th from 7pm-9pm. They will present performance recordings from the whole band as well as pre-recorded solo and small group performances.

Lincoln High School Performing Arts Auditions for 2021-22 School Year

Visit Lincoln High School's Performing Arts at Lincoln (PAL) website for important information about auditions for the 2021-22 school year. Auditions will be held for band, orchestra, jazz band and choir. Students are encouraged to contact Lincoln directly and audition before May 1st.

Call for Volunteers and Officers!

Do you want to support your student's music education, help grow FOMAHI, and strengthen Hamilton International's music programs? We're looking for Choir Co-chair and Orchestra Co-chair to help us with concerts and activities during the 2021/22 school year as well as officer roles on the FOMAHI Board.

Next year, we'll be looking for volunteers at every level - at concerts, fundraisers, bake sales, etc. To find out more, please attend our May 18th virtual board meeting and/or contact us at fomahihelp@gmail.com.

Important! Have you updated your FOMAHI membership profile this school year? If not, please go to FOMAHI's website (https://fomahi.membershiptoolkit.com), log in and make sure your student's grade level and music class are correct for the 2020-21 school year. This will ensure you receive communications appropriate for your student's specific music class.
