FOMAHI NEWS

October 2021

Welcome to the October FOMAHI update

Our Sept 14th virtual board meeting was well attended, and it was great to see so many new faces!

Our Music Directors this year are Angela Pence (Choir and Vocal Jazz), Geoff Ogle (Orchestra), and Brendan McGovern (Band).  Brendan was at Hamilton last spring, and has taken over for Paul Harshman until further notice.

They and the kids are enjoying the return to classrooms!  Individual coaching, which was very successful during on-line learning last year, is on hold at least until the school buildings reopen later this fall.  Everyone is hoping concerts can resume as C19 restrictions allow.  However, afterschool programs are coming together – at the moment, Angela is planning an afternoon session of Junior Jazz.

The Directors are following and enforcing mask and other district C19 safety protocols.

FOMAHI has several new board members: Alison Agness (Choir co-president), Kate McKenzie (Volunteer Coordinator), Gwyn Mannery (Treasurer), Adrienne James and Julie Graber (Fundraising), Niuvis Ferro (Orchestra co-president).

Thank you all for stepping up!

Renee Remlinger and Christina Holden are stepping down as Choir and Orchestra co-presidents – thank you both for all your help and guidance over the last few years.

We are still looking for a VP of Concert Ops and other volunteers!  Please contact one of the co-Presidents if you are interested.

Our next board meeting will be held online on October 12th at 7pm.  Please email fomahihelp@gmail.com for Zoom access if you’d like to attend.

Thank you!
