FOMAHI NEWS

November 2025

Congratulations to Ms. Pence and our talented musicians in the Choir, Concert Band, and Jazz Band on their outstanding performances at the first concert of the year!

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the volunteers who helped make this event such a success. From the bake sale to concert operations, it couldn’t have happened without your support. Thank you!

Fall Concerts!

Concert season continues with these upcoming performances:

  • Thursday, December 4: Orchestra Concert

  • Monday, December 15: Band Concert (Ms. Hepburn and Mr. Ogle Classes)

Keep an eye out for volunteer sign-up sheets — we always appreciate extra hands to help make these events a success!

Meet Mr. Anderson!

We are excited to welcome Mr. Burke Anderson, who will be teaching Ms. Pence’s classes while she is on maternity leave. We wish Ms. Pence a relaxing and joyful time with her family, and we’re thrilled to have Mr. Anderson join our music department!

Need Concert Attire?

Our music directors request that students wear all black for concert performances. If your student needs black concert attire, they can visit the Clothes Rack in Ms. Pence’s room. These items are free for students to borrow or keep.

If you have gently used black clothing or shoes to donate, please send them to school with your child — donations are always appreciated!

Note: Vocal Jazz and Jr. Jazz Band students will wear their black Vocal Jazz T-shirts ordered this fall.

Stay Connected & Support Our Music Program

If you haven't already, please take a moment to update your profile on the FOMAHI website. This helps us keep you informed about music news and events at HIMS!

While you're there, please consider making a tax deductible donation to support FOMAHI. Your contribution helps fund our award-winning music programs, ensuring every student has the opportunity to participate and grow musically.

This year, we're asking families for a voluntary $40 donation to help sustain our program until our major fundraiser, Music-a-Thon.

And don’t forget — many employers match donations or recognize volunteer hours, doubling your impact!

Thank you for your continued support of music at HIMS!

Music-A-Thon Save the Date!

Please mark your calendars- FOMAHI’s biggest fundraiser of the year will be on February 10, 2026. This is an all-day celebration of music!  Stay tuned!
