Winter 2024 After-School Junior Jazz Program

Offered through a partnership among Friends of Music at Hamilton International (FOMAHI),
YMCA Hawks Out of School Time (Host) Program and Hamilton International Middle School (HIMS)

The Family Agreement Form is a required part of the sign up process for those enrolling in an after-school music program for the first time this year. Please print, sign, and turn in to your student's music teacher. 

Junior Jazz is an extracurricular, after-school program that develops concepts in jazz styling and improvisation. In most cases, Junior Jazz students are required to have at least one year of experience on their instruments, obtained in class or through private instruction. An audition may be required for piano, guitar, and drum players. For questions about student readiness or audition information, please contact Mr. Geoffrey Ogle, HIMS music director. The program is open to all grades.

SESSION FEES

The cost is $125 per session.  Financial assistance is available. Please contact Mr. Ogle (HIMS music director) or fomahihelp@gmail.com.

DATES, TIMES & LOCATIONS

When: Mondays & Thursdays after school, 3:55 to 5:00 p.m.

Where: HIMS Orchestra Room (Room 112)

SESSION DATES & PERFORMANCES

There are three sessions per year. Each session culminates in an evening performance at a HIMS jazz concert. All performances are held in the Commons.

Dates January 4th – March 5th 2024

Jazz Night Concert date: March 5th 2024

Register at FOMAHI.ORG: Go to "After-School Programs" or your "My Account" page. (Those without an account will need to create one.) Registration, payment, and the Family Agreement** must be received before the student can participate. A participation fee is required prior to the start of each session. To request financial assistance, please contact Geoff Ogle, HIMS music educator director. As part of the registration process, all families are required to print, complete, and submit the FAMILY AGREEMENT FORM. It should be submitted to a HIMS music director or a Junior Jazz instructor as soon as possible, but no later than the first day of Junior Jazz class.
