Thank You for Your Support!

Music-a-thon on February 8 2024 at 7:00pm

Music-a-thon, FOMAHI's annual fundraiser, will be an evening of music showcasing the work of Hamilton's Choir, Orchestra, and Band programs!

This year, FOMAHI has set a goal of raising $40,000 through this event to support Hamilton's music program. Hamilton has over 330 music students in its programs. If every family involved contributed just over $200 dollars we’d meet our goal. However, please give whatever you feel comfortable giving. We are so appreciative of whatever amount you can donate.

2024 Goal: Raise $40,000 to support music students at Hamilton!

What is the Music-a-thon?

Music-a-thon is foremost a way to unite the Hamilton International community through music. We are excited Hamilton's annual marathon of music continues in 2023! As always, it will be a day of music making. Music-a-thon is the one and only fundraiser put on by FOMAHI. Funds raised help pay for music coaching, instruments for students, instrument repairs, sheet music and supplies.

Working with the music directors during class, students created recordings and pieces to share at the concert. Virtual Music-a-thon 2022 was a wonderful event to celebrate what the directors and students have been able to accomplish during remote learning. Thank you for attending and donating!

How do I donate to Music-a-thon?

We are asking our music community—Hamilton families, relatives, friends, and neighbors—for donations to support students' music education at Hamilton. Students are not required to get donations, but we hope many will! Music-a-thon is FOMAHI's only fundraiser. Please donate if your family is in a position to do so.

How are donations used?

As FOMAHI's biggest fundraiser, Music-a-thon donations support the award-winning music programs at HIMS. This year, our music directors are keeping music in students’ lives by adapting and finding new ways to teach and share music. They’ve encouraged recording and editing skills that will remain useful in the future. The money raised pays for music coaching—which we've invested in more during remote learning, instruments for students, sheet music and supplies, financial assistance and scholarships for students, festival trips, guest instructors, instrument purchases and repair, teacher grants, and more. FOMAHI fills music program funding gaps when possible. We are a 100% volunteer organization, dedicated to making sure the directors and students have what they need to thrive.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes! FOMAHI is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Since no goods or services will be exchanged, the full amount of the donation is tax-deductible. Tax acknowledgment letters will be provided for all cash, check donations and online donations totaling $100 or more. To receive a tax acknowledgment letter, donors must provide a complete mailing address and/or email address.

Does your employer match charitable donations?

Contact us at fomahihelp@gmail.com if you need FOMAHI's tax ID number to submit to your employer for corporate matching. Our 501(c)(3) charitable organization name is "Friends of Music at Hamilton International (FOMAHI)".
