Welcome Hamilton music students and families to Hamilton's Music Program & FOMAHI (Friends of Music at Hamilton International)

We're delighted that you are participating in our school's award-winning music program. As you embark on your musical journey, we ask that you take the time to review this site, which is full of information for students and their families. You will find important information from your instructors, the classroom, your instrument(s), performances, and field trips, as well as information about student support, fundraisers, and ways to get involved. We look forward to a great year of music.

Support FOMAHI!

No other middle school offers music enrichment like Hamilton International Middle School! More than 60% of Hamilton students participate in music…but, the district pays for less than 30% of the expenses that power this award-winning program.

That’s where we come in. We are the Friends of Music at Hamilton International (FOMAHI), a 100% volunteer organization that fundraises for and supports the music program so that ALL students can fully participate. Our volunteers book hundreds of hours annually counting instruments, prepping concerts, selling baked goods, and ensuring the students and directors have what they need to thrive. We also fund or subsidize:

• Licensed sheet music for every student
• Music coaches
• Instrument repair (including tune-ups for 4 pianos), instrument purchase, sound system maintenance
• Out-of-state trips to major competitions
• Ensemble instruction
• Financial support and scholarships for our students in need
• Music teacher grants and professional development

This year, we are asking parents for a voluntary $40 donation to help keep FOMAHI going until its primary fundraiser – the Music-a-thon – in February 2025 (Stay Tuned!).  We’d really appreciate your support! Please contribute to enrichment fees here.  

We also welcome donations to our non-profit organization throughout the year. While you are on the website, please consider adding a tax-deductible donation in support of our music programs.

Please consider volunteering with us! Being a FOMAHI volunteer is a rewarding experience and there are a variety of roles, depending on how much time you can give. Assistance Available

FOMAHI is dedicated to ensuring all music students have access to the supplies and instruments they need. If assistance is needed or if there is difficulty in paying instrument rental fees, please reach out to your student's music teacher or the FOMAHI Board at fomahihelp@gmail.com.
