Senior Jazz 

Reno Jazz Festival

Most school years, the HIMS Senior Jazz Band travels to the Reno Jazz Festival (at the University of Nevada, Reno) in the spring. At the festival, the jazz band and combo/s play, students participate in clinics, and everyone has the opportunity to see (and compete with) elite middle- and high-school jazz bands from all over the Western region. In recent years, the Sr. Jazz Band took first place and had the highest score of any band at the festival.

2022 Reno Jazz Festival

Estimated Family Cost (per student)

In past years, the per-student cost for the Reno Jazz trip was approximately $450. Costs for 2022 are to be determined. Although FOMAHI contributes to offset costs to families, we cannot cover the entire cost. Payment is collected in two separate parts. The first payment is due in December. The balance is due in March. 

Payments

Checks: make payable to FOMAHI and write "Sr Jazz Reno for [your student's name]" on the memo line. There will be an envelope in Mr. Harshman's room (labeled) if you want to send a check to school with your student. You can also leave the check in the FOMAHI mailbox in the Main Office. Please address the envelope to "Sr Jazz Reno Trip" if you leave it in the FOMAHI mailbox.

Online payments: log in to your FOMAHI account (create one if you don't have an existing account) and make a payment. Be sure to indicate the name of your student in the online payment's memo line.
